ARTIST STATEMENT

Dana Richardson's collection of female portrait studies arise from a desire to inspire women to connect to their deep spirit, to kindle self-confidence and pursuit of creative ideas, and to celebrate strength in individuality. Richardson's oil paintings portray female figures as larger than life, erupting from amidst the cityscape, expressing women's strength and ability to rise above circumstances. Richardson believes this is a very relevant time for women to find their voice, share encouragement and reflect the positive social changes we seek to create.
